"La Vie en rose", as it says the song made famous by Edith Piaf, comes alive at by Carolina Herrera collection during New York Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2016. From rugged layers of silk and technological changes and mesh fabrics like neoprene, a tulle appliques and overlapping panels suggest lightness, floating in the body; an impression of folds and pleats in motion, emphasizing that clothes can be sexy and revealing, but still leave "something to the imagination." Leather paillettes embroidered organza and feather touch soft silhouettes in harmony with exposed hems, that embody an attitude uncomplicated style.Within its hyper feminine approach, this collection offers a lot of variety. Dresses presented pleats for day to day, trapeze-shaped and in shirt-version; while for the night, reigning puffed mini skirts combined with tops and dresses decorated with delicate transparent combs. As for "all the pink", maintaining the decorative elements of the inherent structural geometry (except for occasional feathers and floral appliques), the collection never falls into a cloying sweetness.
